Aqara Unveils a New Generation of Smart Lighting at IFA 2026
Aqara is lighting up IFA 2026 in Berlin with an exciting expansion of its smart home ecosystem, introducing a new generation of connected lighting designed for both inside and outside the home.
The new collection includes the Aqara Floor Lamp T1, LED Downlight T2, LED Strip T2, Outdoor String Lights H1 and Permanent Outdoor Lights H1.
But this isn’t simply about adding more smart lights.
Aqara’s latest range has been designed to work alongside its sensors, switches, hubs and automations to create a home where lighting can respond intelligently to presence, routines, environmental changes and different moments throughout the day.
Alongside the new lighting products, Aqara is also showcasing Aqara Builder, a new global community platform for discovering and sharing smart home ideas, projects and automations.
Smart Lighting That Becomes Part of Your Smart Home
The new lighting collection takes Aqara’s smart home ecosystem beyond individual rooms, making it possible to create connected lighting experiences across living spaces and outdoor areas.
Every product in the new range supports Thread and Zigbee connectivity and is Matter-enabled, helping the lights integrate with major smart home platforms including:
- Apple Home
- Amazon Alexa
- Google Home
- Samsung SmartThings
- Home Assistant
- and many more...
Where things become particularly interesting is when the lighting is combined with other Aqara devices.
Rather than having to reach for an app or switch every time you want to change the lighting, an Aqara presence sensor could detect somebody entering a room and automatically activate the appropriate lights. Lighting could adjust as evening approaches, respond to an existing automation or create a completely different atmosphere for working, relaxing, gaming or watching a film.
It’s another step towards Aqara’s vision of spatial intelligence – creating spaces that understand what is happening around them and respond accordingly.
Aqara Floor Lamp T1
The new Aqara Floor Lamp T1 brings immersive ambient lighting into the living room, bedroom, gaming setup or entertainment space.
Standing 1,420mm tall, its side-emitting design uses the wall itself to help create a soft, atmospheric lighting effect.
Inside, a high-precision 16-bit, 5-channel chip controls 18 individual lighting zones, allowing smooth colour transitions and more dynamic lighting effects.
The Floor Lamp T1 offers:
- 18 individually controllable lighting zones
- Up to 1,000 lumens of brightness
- Ultra-wide 2,000K–9,000K tunable white
- Smooth colour transitions
- Smart automation with Aqara sensors and switches
That means your lighting could automatically become warmer and softer as the evening progresses, switch into an immersive scene for a film, or change again when it’s time for gaming.

Aqara LED Downlight T2
For more integrated lighting, Aqara has introduced the LED Downlight T2.
Its ultra-thin design makes it particularly suited to homes where ceiling space may be limited, while two versions provide options for different installations.
The RGB CCT version combines everyday white lighting with up to 16 million colours and an expanded colour temperature range of 2,000K–9,000K.
A CCT version is also available for those looking for powerful, adjustable white lighting, delivering brightness of up to 1,200 lumens.
The Downlight T2 also features power-off memory, allowing the light to return to its previous state following a power interruption.
Combined with Aqara presence sensors and automations, downlights throughout a home could become part of much more sophisticated lighting routines without requiring constant manual control.
Aqara LED Strip T2
The Aqara LED Strip T2 takes decorative and ambient smart lighting another step forward.
Designed to fit underneath cabinets, around shelving, behind furniture or along other architectural features, the flexible strip can be trimmed to suit different spaces.
With 108 LEDs per metre, a 16-bit 5-channel chip and 18 independently controllable zones across every three metres, the Strip T2 is designed to deliver smoother gradients and more consistent lighting without the obvious hotspots commonly seen on LED strips.
It can also create dynamic and music-synchronised lighting effects, making it equally suited to entertainment spaces, gaming setups and social occasions.
And creating the right atmosphere doesn't necessarily mean spending time configuring every individual lighting zone.
Through Aqara Home's AI-powered scene creation capabilities, users can describe the type of atmosphere or lighting experience they want and generate a coordinated scene automatically.
Aqara Outdoor String Lights H1
Aqara is also taking its smart lighting ecosystem outdoors.
The new Outdoor String Lights H1 are designed for patios, gardens, decks and outdoor entertaining areas, providing individually controllable lighting zones and a broad 2,000K–9,000K colour temperature range.
But, just like Aqara's indoor lighting, they're designed to do more than look good.
The lights can become part of wider smart home automations based on time, environmental conditions or triggers from other Aqara devices.
For example, outdoor lighting could illuminate a pathway automatically after dark or respond when another device detects activity around the property.
Aqara's AI-powered Gen-Scene functionality can also be used to create complete lighting scenes from a simple description of the atmosphere you want.
Aqara Permanent Outdoor Lights H1
Holiday lighting looks great. Putting it up and taking it down every year is another matter.
The Aqara Permanent Outdoor Lights H1 have been designed as a year-round alternative.
Install them once and the lighting can then be adapted for Christmas, celebrations, parties, seasonal displays or subtle architectural lighting throughout the rest of the year.
The system features independently controlled LEDs and can be extended and cut to accommodate different rooflines, while its weatherproof construction allows it to remain installed outdoors throughout the year.
Instead of seasonal lighting being something that comes out of storage once a year, it becomes another permanent part of the smart home.
From Smart Lights to Smarter Spaces
The bigger story behind Aqara's IFA 2026 announcements is how closely lighting is becoming integrated with the rest of the smart home.
A light doesn't necessarily need to wait for somebody to tell it to turn on.
A presence sensor can know somebody has entered the room. A routine can understand that it is evening. Another Aqara device can provide the trigger, and the lighting can automatically respond with the appropriate brightness, colour temperature or scene.
By combining lighting, sensors, switches, hubs, automation and AI-assisted scene creation, Aqara is moving towards a smart home that reacts more naturally to the people living in it.
Introducing Aqara Builder
IFA 2026 also sees Aqara showcase Aqara Builder, a new global content-sharing community for smart home creators.
Designed for smart home enthusiasts, developers, installers, integrators and creators, Aqara Builder will provide a place to discover real-world projects, automation ideas and inspiration from other members of the Aqara community.
AI-assisted support will also help users explore ideas and develop more personalised intelligent spaces.
For experienced Aqara users in particular, this could make it much easier to discover what is possible beyond individual devices and recreate useful automations developed by the wider community.
