With advanced features, this switch brings convenience and intelligence to motorized shading solutions.

Aqara Shutter Switch H2 EU Features:

  • Thread/Zigbee Support: The device features dual protocol support. In Thread mode, no Aqara hub is required to connect to third-party Matter ecosystems, while Zigbee mode unlocks exclusive Aqara features and ensures backward compatibility with the classic Aqara Zigbee hubs without compromising Matter support. The flexible protocol switching lets users enjoy Matter integration or Aqara’s advanced functionalities based on their preference.
  • Shutter Position, One Tap Away: Control your roller shutter from anywhere, anytime with accurate control through percentage (1%-100%) via app, button, voice, schedule, etc. Users can finely tune the shutter position to suit their lighting needs, protect furniture from sunlight, ensure privacy, or create the perfect ambiance from fully closed to completely open.
  • Calibration as Desired: Achieve precise shutter control with calibration options tailored to your needs—Smart Calibration for effortless initial setup, Custom Calibration for personalised precision, and Route Recalibration for long-term accuracy. Whether you want a quick, hands-free setup or fine-tuned adjustments, these options ensure your shutters always move exactly as expected.
  • Exclusive Wireless Buttons: Beyond basic open/close/pause control via the left button, the right button gives you precise control over how much light enters your space—helping you create the perfect ambiance for work, relaxation, or sleep. Users can trigger smart home scenes and automations, letting you personalise your environment routines with a single tap.
  • Subtle Indicator Light: The low-profile LED indicator is designed to minimise light disturbance and only lights up during operation. The indicator light will not light up when there is no operation to avoid disturbing your sleep.
  • 55 mm Frame Support: Aqara Light Switch H2 EU fits seamlessly into commonly used  55 mm switch modular systems (55 mm x 55 mm) and supports popular third-party frames, like Gira System 55 and Merten M. Its standardised design ensures compatibility across EU markets, minimising the need for custom fittings and simplifying the installation.

① To use the device with a particular Matter ecosystem, a Thread-enabled Matter Controller of this ecosystem is required.

② Aqara Zigbee hub required. Zigbee2MQTT and comparable third-party USB dongles are not Aqara-supported. Full product functionality may be limited or unavailable.

③ Custom and recalibration require using Zigbee mode and connecting to an Aqara hub. Smart calibration needs to be triggered via button action for non-Aqara users.

④ This feature may not work in some third-party Matter ecosystems but is supported by the device. For full functionality, use Zigbee mode and connect to an Aqara hub.

⑤ Exact fit may vary for non-Aqara multi-gang frames. For perfect multi-gang frame installation compatibility, Aqara offers Switch Frame H2 EU of 2-gang and 3-gang, available separately.

Q

What types of motors does the Shutter Switch H2 EU support?

A

Supports four-wire motors with limit settings. These motors a Neutral (N) wire, Upward load wire (L1), Downward load wire (L2), and Ground wire (GND).

Q

Do you need to define the upper and lower limits of the motor before installing the Shutter Switch H2 EU?

A

Yes, proper use of the Shutter Switch H2 EU requires that the motor’s limit positions—specifically the upper and lower boundaries of the curtain—are correctly set in advance. If you’re unsure how to do this, we recommend consulting your motor installer or an electrician.

Q

How do you access the Smart Calibration settings for the Shutter Switch H2 EU?

A

On the device: Double-press the Up button, then double-press the Down button. The roller shutter will enter Smart Calibration mode, moving first to the upper limit, then to the lower limit, and finally returning to the upper limit. Once this process is complete, the shutter will support precise percentage-based control.

In the app: When using the Zigbee protocol, Smart Calibration can be completed directly in the Aqara Home app without pressing any physical buttons on the device.

Q

After adding the device to a Matter platform (such as Apple Home, etc.), how do I start Smart Calibration?

A

Smart Calibration is only supported via button operation when using Matter platforms.
To initiate: double-press the Up button, then double-press the Down button. The roller shutter will enter Smart Calibration mode, moving to the upper limit, then to the lower limit, and finally returning to the upper limit. Once the process is complete, precise percentage-based control will be available.

Q

Is Smart Calibration required? Will the device function properly if it is not set?

A

To enable precise percentage control in the app, Smart Calibration must be completed.
Before calibration, pressing and holding the Up or Down button will start the shutter’s movement, and releasing the button will immediately stop it.

Q

How do you access the Custom Calibration settings for the Shutter Switch H2 EU?

A

In the app: When using the Zigbee protocol, you can customize the upper and lower boundaries of the roller shutter in the Aqara Home app. This feature is useful in scenarios where there are plants or other obstacles beneath the shutter.

Q

What if the actual movement direction of the roller shade is opposite to the button direction?

A

If the motor’s L1 and L2 load wires are connected in reverse, the Up and Down buttons may control the motor in the opposite direction. To fix this, press the Up button five times in quick succession to reverse the button direction and restore correct motor control.

Q

How to clear calibration memory?

A

To reset the switch’s travel memory (e.g., due to operational anomalies), press the down button five times consecutively. This operation will clear all travel data and restore the switch to default mode. Afterwards, you can only manually control the motor by long-pressing the up/down buttons, and the percentage-based position control function will be disabled until Smart Calibration is set again.

Q

Why did the Shutter Switch H2 EU suddenly stop and become unable to control the roller shade?

A

The motor probably overheated from extended use. We suggest you let it cool to its regular operating temperature before continuing. If you notice any calibration drift at that point, you should reset its calibration.

There’s a 300-second motor protection feature built in. The relay will cut power automatically if the motor runs for more than 300 consecutive seconds.

Q

What is calibration drift? What's the frequency recommended for route recalibration?

A

Calibration drift refers to the gradual change over time in how your shutter or blind actuator interprets 100% and 0% positions. Routine recalibration is the best way to keep your shutters reliably where you expect them. Since each shutter motor may behave differently, we recommend users regularly perform calibration based on their usage conditions.

Q

What is the maximum communication distance between Shutter Switch H2 EU and the hub/border router?

A

With one wall between the switch and Hub/Thread border router, expect a range of 7-10 meters. For multiple walls, keep devices as close as possible for the best connection.

Q

Can the device be used as a light switch?

A

It only supports wiring to a compatible shutter motor, but the two wireless buttons on its right side can automate Aqara Light Switch H2 EU or other smart switches for lighting control.

Q

Can Shutter Switch H2 EU operate when disconnected from the network?

A

The device can still be controlled locally, and would function like a traditional shutter switch.

Q

Can the Shutter Switch H2 EU control Venetian blinds, and does it support blind angle control?

A

If the shutter motor is compatible with Venetian blinds, the Shutter Switch H2 EU can control the opening and closing of the blinds, but it does not support slat percentage control.

Q

What are the dimensions of Shutter Switch H2 EU?

A

86×86×45mm, with a base depth of 30mm.
